Clarion University offers participation in many activities and organizations throughout the school year catering to different interests and needs.
The Clarion International Association, which is open to both International and US students, offers educational and cultural programming activities and field trips to various historical sites in the US. There are several other organizations that are of special interest to international students, such as the ASIA Club, Spanish Club, German Club, French Club, and Study Abroad Club, as well as academic organizations related to specific majors. There are over 130 student organizations, both academic and social, offering a wide variety of opportunities to students who wish to become actively involved in campus organizations.
Other opportunities available through the Office of Campus Life include Leadership Development, Student Involvement, Recognized Student Organizations, Student Senate, Transitions Services, Orientation, Explorations, and University Activities Board. The University Activities Board provides a diverse range of programs for students including Activities Day, Family Day, Homecoming, and numerous programs in the arts, concerts, lectures, multi-cultural programming, recreational programs, and special events.
Clarion University offers a wide variety of both intramural and varsity sports for men and women. Such sports include basketball, baseball, football, swimming, track and field, cross country, soccer, golf and wrestling. Other recreational activities such horseback riding, bicycling, hiking, climbing, canoeing, camping, ice-skating and cross-country skiing are also available in nearby state parks.
The Clarion community also offers leisure activities including bowling, movies, dining, and shopping at the nearby Outlet Mall. Students who like to travel to a large city have opportunities available to go to Pittsburgh, Erie and Cleveland, Ohio, which are all quite close to Clarion and offer many interesting activities for people of all ages.
