Careers and Internships

Graduates of the Associate of Science in Nursing program are trained technical nurses who provide client-centered care. The graduate also is eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination to become a registered nurse.

Graduates of the Associate of Science in Nursing program work in:

  • Hospitals
  • Personal care homes
  • Skilled nursing facilities
  • Children’s care centers
  • Women’s health centers
  • Mental health agencies
  • Doctor’s offices and family health practices

Nursing students receive clinical experience in each semester as part of their training. Some of the local health care agencies offer internships to students within the students’ first and second years of schooling.

Students who earn an Associate of Science in Nursing degree are encouraged to further their education in the RN to BSN program. This program provides even more opportunities to expand your career into other nursing areas.
