Clarion University College of Business Administration will present the Dean’s Lecture Series featuring Chris Allison at 5 p.m. Oct. 23 in Carter Auditorium, 112 Still Hall. All are welcome.
Allison was the CEO of NASDAQ-traded Tollgrade Communications, Inc., for nine years. During his tenure there, Forbes named the company one of the Best 200 Small Companies in America in 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2001.
In 2001, Fortune designated the telecom maker as one of the Fastest Growing Companies in America. In 2002, Allison was voted Entrepreneur of the Year by the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association, and by Ernst and Young in 2005.
He was voted CEO Communicator of the Year by the Public Relations Society of America in 2001. He won the Golden Quill Award in 1983 and was a finalist for the award in 2007.
He currently teaches entrepreneurship at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa. He lives in Pittsburgh with his wife, Jane France, a Clarion University graduate and member of Clarion University Foundation, Inc., Board of Directors. In 2012, Allison delivered the commencement address at Clarion University, when he and France received the first husband-and-wife Doctorate of Public Service.
