Overview

The PASSHE Technology Fee was created (1) to acquire, install, and maintain up-to-date and emerging technologies for the purpose of enhancing student-learning outcomes; (2) to provide equitable access to technology resources; and (3) to ensure, ultimately, that State System graduates are competitive in the technologically sophisticated workplace. All hardware, software, databases, and other capital equipment procured with these revenues are strictly limited to clearly articulated learning experiences for students. (Board of Governors Policy 1999-02).


Procedures

Calls for new Tech Fee project proposals will be coordinated periodically through the University Technology Advisory Committee (UTAC).  To submit a proposal in response to that call, please complete the following steps:

  1. Review the Technology Fee Guidelines established by the PASSHE Board of Governors.
  2. Develop a proposal and submit it via forms that are distributed to Deans and VP's as part of the call for new proposal process
  3. Note that Computing Services is offering consulting services concerning project development and pricing. Please be sure to contact Computing Services for technical specifications, pricing, and technical infrastructure capacity during proposal development.
  4. Submit the proposal (via e-mail) through your Department Chair who, in turn, will submit the proposal to Computing Services (sselker@clarion.edu) for technical review. After the technical review, the proposal will be routed to your Dean or Vice President for college/division review.

Please be sure to follow all of the procedures. As with last year's technology fee, we anticipate receiving more requests than funding, so we may not be able to fund all eligible requests.
