Health Promotions

 

The Office of Health Promotions, located in the Keeling Health Center, delivers health and wellness information to students across the campus. Through presentations, wellness programs and fitness activities, students have opportunities to learn about the importance of healthy choices and healthy living.

The office supports Healthy Campus 2020 which serves as a foundation for developing and implementing programs on topics, such as alcohol awareness, women's health, safe sex/STD, tobacco, mental wellness and nutrition/exercise. It also coordinates the C.H.A.M.P.S. Life Skills Program and conducts presentations for student-athletes.

The Office of Health Promotions collaborates with the Office of Judicial and Mediation Services and oversees mandated drug and alcohol programs for students violating university policy.

 

Mission
The Office of Health Promotions at Clarion University promotes physical, social, and emotional well-being among members of the campus community through activities, presentations, wellness programming, information sharing, and resources.  Health Promotions uses a six-dimension wellness model as a framework for delivering programs and services, and supports the goals of Healthy People 2020, a national program for improving the nation's health.

Principle
The principle is to emphasize all six dimensions of the wellness wheel including: Intellectual, Emotional, Social, Career, Spiritual, and Physical while adhering to the Healthy People 2020 Goals.
