Dr. Carie Forden of Clarion University Psychology Department, along with Dr. Amy Carrillo from the American University in Cairo, received a 2013 Social Action Teaching Award Honorable Mention from the Social Psychology Network.
Forden and Carrillo were recognized for a social psychology assignment they developed on prejudice. In this assignment, American students at Clarion and Egyptian students at the American University in Cairo were asked to create plans for reducing prejudice between Muslims and non-Muslims.
These plans were then discussed over a shared Facebook page. As part of the award, the assignment is featured on the Social Psychology Network's website.
