Steps to Incorporate Turnitin in Your Courses
To use Turnitin in Your Courses:
- Open your Blackboard course site: http://blackboard.clarion.edu.
- Create a Turnitin Assignment [pdf].
- Tell students that you will be using Turnitin.
- Insert a statement in your syllabus regarding submission of student papers to Turnitin.
- Provide students with instructions for submitting papers to Blackboard [pdf].
- Review originality reports.
- Results report the percentage of text in a student's paper that matches text that is published on the Internet or contained within Turnitin's proprietary database. Internet sources include online paper mills, academic sites, news sites, and electronic books. Turnitin's proprietary database includes papers previously submitted to Turnitin.
- Note: Turnitin does not claim to compare student text with all text currently published on the Internet, but does check student text against billions of pages of text.
