CampusFest will welcome The Band Perry to Clarion University at 8 p.m. April 20. The Band Perry is comprised of siblings Kimberly Perry (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Reid Perry (bass guitar, background vocals) and Neil Perry (mandolin, drums, accordion, background vocals).
The group has released seven singles: "Hip to My Heart" (November 2009), "If I Die Young" (June 2010), "You Lie" (January 2011), "All Your Life" (August 2011), "Postcard from Paris" (March 2012), "Better Dig Two" (October 2012) and "DONE." (March 2013). "If I Die Young" reached No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs and Adult Contemporary charts and has been certified quadruple platinum.
Tickets, available to the public, are $30 and can be purchased from noon to 4 p.m. weekdays at the information desk in Gemmell Student Complex, or at www.clarionuniversitytickets.com.
“I am so excited that this year we were able to get such a huge act. I think it is going to be a great show that will be different from years past,” said Maggie Abrams, chairman of the CampusFest Committee. “This year, not only are we appealing to the students, but the community is excited as well. At the end of the day, it makes me really happy that CampusFest can be one way we are bringing the university and the community together.”
CampusFest brings popular musical and comedy acts to Clarion University. In the past, acts such acts as Rascal Flatts, Fuel, Cassidy, Ludacris, T-Pain, Gym Class Heroes, Colbie Calliet, Ke$ha, and Mac Miller have performed.
