The major in International Business is a multidisciplinary major within the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. Cultural and language courses complement the business courses to provide you with an excellent skill package to offer future employers.
Our international travel and student exchange experiences have sent students to more than eight countries in the past year.
Why Choose International Business?
Demand is increasing for people to have knowledge of the international environment. Many domestically educated managers have been at a disadvantage due to their lack of language proficiency, international sensitivity and multi-national knowledge. These skills are necessary for effective interaction with foreign businesses and government officials. With this major, students are able to apply knowledge and skills to an international setting.
Note: We work with every international business student individually to provide the type of international experience that is best for them. This is especially helpful to those students whose proficiencies are in languages other than the main languages taught at Clarion University.
Those who declare this major will be assigned an advisor in the Department of Economics. Students interested in the required international internship or study-abroad experience should start planning early. Students should begin their academic planning with their advisor in their sophomore year.
Additional information about international experience opportunities can be obtained from the Economics Department chairperson, Dr. Rod Raehsler , or from Clarion University's Office or International Programs.
For more information about the International Business major, students should contact the coordinator of the program, Dr. Sandra Trejos.
