Dr. Donna Ashcraft, professor of psychology at Clarion University, recently attended and presented at the PASSHE Psychology Potluck in Millersville.

Her talk, “Do Vampires and Werewolves behave like Humans?  Using Twilight to Demonstrate Psychological Concepts,” discussed the use of popular literature such as the “Twilight” series to engage students and demonstrate psychological concepts in the areas of social psychology, personality psychology and gender psychology.

Ashcraft’s book, which applies such psychological concepts to the behavior of the characters in the “Twilight” series, will be published and released by Peter Lang publishers this month.

Ashcraft received her bachelor's degree from Buffalo State College and her master's and doctorate degrees from The State University Of New York at Albany. She has taught at Clarion University since 1988.

Clarion University is the high-achieving, nationally recognized, comprehensive university that delivers a personal and challenging academic experience.
