The Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia Chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries, a division of American Library Association, held its fall meeting Nov. 2 at the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown. The focus was “New Students, New Services.”

Dr. James Maccaferri, Strattanville, and Drs. Marilyn Harhai and Janice Krueger, both of Clarion, presented “New Students, New Stories: The Veterans History Project.” The session outlined the benefits of oral histories and demonstrated how they are created and can be integrated into information literacy instruction and campus activities.

Approximately 60 academic librarians and library science faculty attended to participate in the discussions, poster sessions and presentations.
