Newman Club sponsors ‘Faith and Freedom’ event

Dr. Thomas Rourke, professor of political science at Clarion University, will discuss his 2011 book, “The Social and Political Thought of Benedict XVI,” with particular reference to current debates concerning religious freedom, including the HHS Mandates, at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Campus Ministry House, 60 Greenville Ave., across from Tippin Gym. Rourke will give a 30-minute presentation of Benedict XVI's insights concerning the themes of faith, reason and the meaning of religious liberty in the American context. This will be followed by discussion and questions from the audience.  The event is free and open to the public, and is intended to be of interest to all concerned with the issue of religious freedom.
