Students from PS 350: The National Political Convention Experience, will share their experiences at the Republican and Democratic national conventions in Tampa and Charlotte during a presentation at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 in 114 Founders Hall. The public is welcome.

While at the host cities, Clarion students completed an academic seminar with The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars, which consisted of forums with speakers from the world of politics, media, public service and political science; relevant contemporary readings on the 2012 campaign and the American political system; student and faculty discussion groups; and fieldwork with a media outlet, party organization, interest group or non-profit civic association.

Student field work included placements with, among others: The Dallas Morning News, Democratic National Convention Committee, Pennsylvania Democratic Party, Creative Coalition, Talk Radio News Service, Fox News and Bloomberg.

Student presentations will be followed by a question-and-answer session. Representatives from the Washington Center will also be in attendance.

For information, email Dr. Kevan Yenerall, professor of political science.
