The 2008-09 Clarion University Faculty Author Seminar Series has scheduled six speakers for its second year. The goal of the Series is to establish a forum for faculty to share their scholarly activities with the university campus community.

            All of the presentations, are scheduled at 12:15 p.m. in the Center For Academic Excellence, Level A, Carlson Library. The programs are free and open to the public. A light lunch will be served beginning at noon.

            The presenters for 2008-09 include:

            Sept. 12 – Dr. Vincent Spina, modern languages.

            Oct. 20 – Mark Franchino, art.

            Nov. 5 – Dr. Robert Nulph, mass media arts, journalism, and communication studies.

            Jan. 30, 2009 – Dr. Elisabeth Donato, modern languages.

            Feb. 16 – Dr. Laurie Occhipinti, anthropology, geography, and earth science.

            March 11 – Dr. Ellen Foster, English.

            The Faculty Affairs Committee of Clarion University Faculty Senate in cooperation with the University Libraries sponsors the series. This initiative is funded through the Clarion University-Wide Faculty Development Committee’s Presidential Advancement Award.

Dr. Patricia Kolencik, education, is the Project Director. The Faculty Author Seminar Series committee includes:  Dr. Lisa Turner, special education; Dr. Jeanne Slattery, psychology; Dr. Janet Knepper, English; Dr. Kathleen Welsch, English; Dr. Andrew Keth, biology; and Dr. Jocelyn Smrekar, education.
