Admissions Application Procedures

Clarion University reviews applications beginning in September for the following fall semester. Admissions decisions are made on applications within days of receipt and you will be notified by letter, within two weeks after the review.

I. Please complete the attached application form and type or print clearly. Select your academic major from our listing of majors. Sign and date the application and include a $30 application fee. To apply online go to www.clarion.edu/admiss.

• An essay and recommendation letters are optional for students, but are encouraged since they can help strengthen your application for admission.
• We encourage you to visit the campus, but interviews are not required for admission to the University.

II. If you are a high school student you should ask your guidance counselor to mail the application and $30 application fee along with an official, sealed copy of your high school transcript to Clarion University. The transcript should list all of your high school courses including your senior year curriculum, a cumulative grade-point-average, and a cumulative class rank (if provided by your high school). SAT or ACT scores may also be acceptednoted on the high school transcript provided by your guidance counselor.

III. Clarion University accepts either ACT or SAT test scores. Use the Clarion University code number (ACT: 3698 SAT: 2649) to direct an official copy of your test score report to Clarion University.

IV. Students who are interested in majoring in Music Education are required to audition and will need to schedule an audition with the Music Department. Students interested in Nursing must apply by December 15 and write an essay explaining why they want to be a nurse and take the National League of Nursing (NLN) Exam.

V. If you are a transfer student, please have an official academic transcript sent from all schools you have attended, in addition to the application form and high school transcript.
