Clarion University has offered undergraduate library science education since 1937, and since the Department of Library Science offers an ALA-accredited masters degree, qualified students may progress from a bachelors degree to a masters degree without changing universities.
The Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a major in Library Science is a 120-credit major that prepares students students for Pennsylvania school library certification for grades K-12. The program emphasizes field experiences and the use of advanced information technology. The teaching certificate that students earn through this program is also valid in many other states.
