Dr. Susan Turell, Clarion University associate provost, co-wrote an article, "Child Custody and Safe Exchange/Visitation," with Laurel Kieffer, women's studies lecturer for University of Wisconson. The article was published in Journal of Child Custody, Volume 8, Issue 4.
Turell, a native of Houston, Texas, graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her master's degree and doctorate in counseling psychology, both at University of Houston.
She has written extensively and has presented professionally on sexual assault and domestic violence, focusing most recently on intimate partner violence within same-sex couples.
