Save your files (data) to a USB Memory Stick "Pen Drive" Win 2000/XP or Mac OS X

Save your files (data) to a Floppy Disk

Save your files (data) using WebDrive

Attach your files (data) to an e-mail message

**These procedures will work for both Windows and Mac systems unless otherwise noted**

 


To save your files (data) to a USB Memory Stick "Pen Drive" do the following:

  • Insert the USB pen drive device into a free USB Port (if a window pops up, simply minimize the window or close it

  • Select FILE, SAVE AS from the menu bar of the program you are running

  • Select the appropriate drive letter for the USB pen drive (i.e. PENDRIVE) from the drop down menu beside "Save in:"

Macs - select Pen Drive from the drop down menu beside "Where" field

  • Type a name to store your data in beside the "File name :" field

  • Click Save
  • Once you have saved your data and exited out of the application, disconnect the USB pen drive

 

 To save your files (data) to a Floppy Disk, do the following:

  • Insert a formatted floppy disk into the floppy drive
  • Select FILE, SAVE AS from the menu bar of the program you are running

  • Select 3 1/2 Floppy (A:) from the drop-down menu beside "Save in:" field

Macs - select the floppy drive from the drop down menu beside "Where" field

  • Type a name to store your data in beside the "File name:" field

  • Click Save
  • Once you have saved your data and exited out of the application, eject the floppy disk

 

 To save your files (data) using the WebDrive, do the following:

  • Go to the software download page by clicking here
  • Enter your iClarion username and password

  • From the drop down list select WEBDRIVE

  • Click the DOWNLOAD button

  • Download the installer file to your desktop

  • Double click on the installer icon to install WebDrive

  • At the message window "This will install WebDrive 6 and copy icons to the desktop" click OK

  • The installer will run and then a license agreement window will open. Click YES

  • Click NEXT at the destination window
  • Icons will appear on your desktop. To refresh the images so they will appear as follows, restart your computer.

Attach your files (data) to an e-mail message, do the following:

**These instructions are for files that were created in other applications (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc).**

  • Log into your iClarion Portal to access the e-mail system
  • Click on the e-mail button

  • Click on Compose
  • Type in the email address that you want your file to go to

  • Click on Attach button

  • Click on the Browse button

  • Browse your file system to locate the file you want to attach. When you find the file select it and click Open

    Note: If you are using Netscape as your browser, the default file search type is "html". To locate other types of files, use the drop-down button to set the "Files of type" box to All Files (*.*) and select the file you need. If you are using Internet Explorer, the default search type is All Files.

  • Once you have selected a file to attach, click the Attach button. You will see the file name included in the attachment window and a tally that alerts you the amount of space the attachment will consume and the limits that have been set for your system.

  • Repeat steps 2 - 4 above to add other files as attachments.

  • Once you have selected the attachments that you would like to send, click OK

  • If you are ready to send the message with the attachments, click Send

  • To delete an attachment, select the file that you want to delete from the list of added attachments and click Remove

  • To return to a message composition with the attachments that you have selected, click OK.

  • To exit without adding or changing the attachment list, click Cancel
