Dr. Miguel R. Olivas-Luján, professor of administrative science at Clarion University, has been appointed editor of Advanced Series in Management, a scholarly book series published by Emerald Group Publishing, Ltd. ASM publishes edited books or monographs that challenge traditional thinking in the field of management and organization theories, and encourages volumes that develop new conceptual, methodological and empirical approaches. Volumes published by ASM contribute to the enhancement and communication of knowledge concerning the development of managerial concepts and practice, and the use, impact and economics of management with organizational and societal implications. Particularly welcome are scholarly ideas that may steer the management field into new directions that are largely unexplored by the flagship publications.

Along with Olivas-Luján, Dr. Tanya Bondarouk, associate professor of human resource management at the School of Management and Governance of the University of Twente (The Netherlands) will be responsible for review and publication of volumes that will be included in the book series. Both Bondarouk and Olivas-Luján will be editors for ASM, which has published eight volumes that have developed a systems perspective on firm resources, capabilities and management processes; presented an autopoietic theory of firm formation and evolution, and discussed possibilities of information technologies for human resource management, among other topics.

With over 40 years' experience, Emerald Group Publishing is an independent publisher of global research with impact in business, society, public policy and education. Their publications are distributed around the globe in both electronic and paper form. Olivas-Luján has also been a research faculty with Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico). His research, which deals with information technologies, human resource management, gender, Hispanics in business, business ethics and Latin America, can be found in four languages in scientific journals, edited books, conference proceedings and practitioner-oriented publications.

Olivas-Luján's professional influence has been recognized in various forums, including Cleveland's Kaleidoscope Magazine's "Cuarenta-cuarenta" Club (class of 2009) and Mexico's National Researchers System (Sistema Nacional de Investigadores). He has also been editor-in-chief for the National Society of Hispanic MBAs' Business Journal of Hispanic Research (2010-11). Among his professional volunteer activities, he writes a monthly blog (drolivaslujan.blogspot.com) whose articles are published in several outlets, and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management's Global Expertise Panel (2008-11), and faculty advisor for the Clarion Student SHRM chapter.
