The Clarion University Office of Finance and Administration has provided an update on the major construction projects underway at Clarion University.
Venango Pond
Work moved more slowly last week due to weather delays. Work on water diversion and containment continues.
Dining Hall
Most of the scaffolding is gone on the north and east sides of the buildings since the brickwork is finished. Mechanical trades are still hanging ductwork and floors are all poured. The curtain wall should start to be installed any time and shingling is 20-30 percent complete.
Pedestrian/vehicular traffic and safety: construction vehicles will also be entering and leaving the job site to transport materials. Caution should be used near the jobsite.
Science-Technology Building
Exterior board is nearing completion and brick installation is scheduled to begin this week. July 1 and 2 brings the installation of the rooftop chiller and HVAC air handlers. A 150-ton crane will be brought in for this work.
On-Campus Residences
Installation of the brick on Building #1 walls facing Wilson Avenue and Ballentine Hall continued last week. The contractors are preparing to connect Building #4 to the campus power grid.
Other Issues:
Other Pedestrian/Vehicular traffic and safety issues: for June, Orientation will now be using Lot H and Lot 6 for parking on Tuesday and Thursday. Employees currently parking in Lot H should park in Lot 5 on Tuesday and Thursday.
