The Clarion University Office of Finance and Administration has provided an update on the major construction projects underway at Clarion University.
Venango Campus – Venango Pond
Work is progressing nicely as the pond is depth and width is set to contain a 100-year flood.
Venango Campus – Rhoades Locker Room
The contractor continues demolition work on the existing locker room.
The lower slab has been poured for outside seating, and framing has started on the coffeehouse, with installation of the exhaust duct. The truck entrance is being cut with one radius poured.
Pedestrian/vehicular traffic and safety: One-way traffic is still in effect for the roadway between Carrier and the new dining-hall and construction equipment is still very active. Do not drive east on this roadway and do not walk in this or any other campus roadway.
Construction of the bus pull-in on Greenville Avenue continued this week and is expected to be done with completion of the sidewalk by the start of the fall semester. Drywall was installed in the office area this week and exterior brick work also continued.
The elevator in Building #4 is now fully functional and ready for inspection by L & I. Painting for progressed to the third floor with the last, fourth floor will begin this week. Installation of the flooring will begin this week. Both Building # 1 and #4 are on schedule with activities in Building #1 lagging #4 by one week.
