Students in Clarion University's College of Business Administration are not required to purchase or maintain a personal computer. The University provides computer work areas for student use in Still Hall (where business classes are taught), in the library, and in Becker Hall (where computer classes are taught). The Still Hall facility has 38 work stations with the complete software compliment and a black and white laser printer to support all of your required business coursework. These facilities are not available 24/7. Students may benefit from bringing a personal computer with them to campus (but it is not required).
The University's recommended MINIMUM personal computer (Mac or PC) system requirements are found HERE
It is important to note that CIS 217 is a required business course that uses the most recent Microsoft Windows Operating System and the most recent version of Microsoft Office. These software packages are available for student use in the computer work areas mentioned above.
Business students bringing Apple (r) laptops and desktop computers to campus are reminded that CIS 217 uses only Microsoft based software. With some minor adjustments, Apple (r) computers do permit the use of Microsoft software or students can take advantage of the free and open computer work areas on campus.
