A Clarion University UTAC subcommittee met to evaluate several different 'clicker' systems. Based on these evaluations, the committee has recommended the student response system from TurningTechnologies as the standard campus student response system.

Student Response Systems can be used to:

  • Engage all students in the classroom, motivate students, increase student involvement;

  • Provide instant feedback both for students and instructors;

  • Collect students' performance data;

  • Take attendance;

  • Manage students' grades electronically.

Upcoming Workshop

TurningPoint Clickers - Two-Part Brown Bag session

Thinking about using student response systems in your next class? The LTC will conduct a two-part series on clickers. Day one of the workshop will focus on the pedagogical implementation of clickers in the classroom and provide ideas and suggestions for use and will include topics such as "just in time teaching", peer instruction and question models. You will experience the use of clickers from the "student" end to see how instructors can gather immediate feedback to gauge understanding of course content. The second part of the TurningPoint series will focus on how to get started using them in your own classroom with software demonstration and exploration. Discussion will surround the two products, TurningPoint 2008 and TurningPoint Anywhere.
