The Office of Marketing and Communication -- formerly part of University Relations and now a part of the Center for Advancement -- communicates the official position of the university and advances its image.
This office assists in community and governmental relations, emergency communications and general public relations. The director of marketing and communication serves as the spokesperson for the university.

All official university news releases are issued through this office for distribution to media, as well as placement on the Clarion University website and electronic campus newsletter, NEWSwire. Photographic coverage is also arranged through this office. All official news items are on the Newswire page.
This office also writes, edits and produces the university magazine, Clarion and Beyond.
The Office of Marketing and Communication develops the university's short- and long-term marketing plans to support student recruitment and philanthropy efforts.
Brand Marketing: The office also works with the campus community and beyond to safeguard the university's brand. A brand is the idea or image of a specific product or service with which consumers connect, by identifying the name, logo, slogan or design of the company or institution that owns the idea or image. The brand is used as part of all official publications (print and electronic), as well as website and social media. The Clarion University website empowers academic departments to more easily update their website content while staying within the university brand.
All promotional advertising is placed through this office.
The Office of Marketing and Communication works closely with Enrollment Management on recruitment and retention activities.
