A Wiki is a collaborative tool that can be used by instructors for group projects or other modes of teaching.

Accessing Wikis

1. Follow the instructions from your instructor to access the course wiki. This may vary from course to course.

Adding a New Page

1. Go to course Wiki. Typically, the Wiki will be located under the Content widget. Select your Wiki.

2. On the right side of the screen select Add New Page.

3. If you want to add a completely new page, enter your page title in the Title box, and select Wiki from the box below.

4. If you want your page to be a subset of an existing page, enter your page title in the Title box, and select the corresponding page from the box below.

5. Select Continue.

6. Skip to Text Editing portion of this documentation.

Edit Existing Page

1. Go to course Wiki. Typically, the Wiki will be located under the Content widget. Select your Wiki.

2. On the right side of the screen, select the Wiki you wish to edit from the Pages section.

3. Select Edit on the right side of the chosen page.

Text Editor

The text editor is a way to add text, images, videos, and/or files to the Wikis.

Adding Text

Step 1: Enter information into text box.

Step 2: If you copied text from a Microsoft Word document, click Paste from Word ltc_d2l_stuwiki7 and press ctrl+v on your keyboard. Select the Insert button to insert content.

Step 3: If you copied text from another type of document, press ctrl+v on your keyboard.

Step 4: If done, click Save & Exit.

Creating an Anchor

1. Click the Insert/Edit Anchor button. ltc_d2l_stuwiki15
2. Name your anchor.

Inserting Hyperlinks

1. Highlight the text that you want to link to another page or anchor.
2. Click Link to Page. ltc_d2l_stuwiki8
3. If the link is to an external website, select Link to an external website and enter the address into the URL box.
4. If the link is to a destination on the page, select Link to an anchor and select the Anchor name. (The anchor must be created before linking to it.)
5. If the link is to a new page, select Link to a new page and enter the page name in the Page name box.
6. If the link is to an existing page, select Link to an existing page, and select the page from the list box.
7. If you want the link to open in a new page, select Open in new window.

8. If done, click Save & Exit.

Inserting Images

1. Click Insert/Edit image. ltc_d2l_stuwiki10
2. If the image is stored on your computer, click the Browse icon to find your image.

Then click Browse in the window that pops up. Navigate and select your image and click the Upload button.
3. If the image is stored on another website, enter the web address in the Image URL box.
4. Enter a description in the Image description field.
5. Click the Insert button.
6. If done, click the Save & Exit button.

Inserting Embedded Media

1. Click Insert/Edit Media icon. ltc_d2l_stuwiki12
2. In the window that pops up, select the type of media being embedded in the Type field.
3. If the media is stored on your computer, click the Browse icon, then the Browse button in the following window. Navigate to and select the media. Click the Upload button.

4. If the media is stored on another website, enter the web address in the File/URL field.
5. Click the Insert button.
6. If done, click the Save & Exit button.

Uploading a File

1. Click the Upload a file icon. ltc_d2l_stuwiki14
2. In the window that pops up, click the Browse button.
3. Navigate to and select the file.
4. Click the Upload button.
5. If done, click the Save & Exit button.

Supported Browsers

The Wiki only works with the following browsers:
• Firefox 3.x
• Safari 4.0
• Safari 5.0
• Internet Explorer 6.0*
• Internet Explorer 7.0
• Internet Explorer 8.0
*Users of Internet Explorer 6.0 are strongly encouraged to upgrade to something else.

SSO No Cookies

The cookies disabled error indicates that your browser is not accepting cookies from Campus Pack; you will need to adjust your browser settings to allow cookies from this domain. For most institutions this domain is campuspack.net or campuspack.eu.
The exact steps to follow depend on your browser.
Firefox
In Firefox, go to Edit -> Preferences -> Privacy and enable both Accept cookies and Accept third-party cookies, or else go to Exceptions... and Allow cookies from campuspack.net or campuspack.eu.
Internet Explorer
In Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy and either set the security level to Medium, or else go to Sites... and Allow cookies from campuspack.net or campuspack.eu.
