In order to be eligible for enrollment into the Honors Program, you must be accepted to Clarion University of Pennsylvania - main campus. For Clarion University admission information, click here. Approximately 50 students are accepted into the Honors Program each year.

Freshmen (incoming and currently enrolled)

Upper-classmen and transfer students will be considered
Admission is competitive and based on the following criteria:

Minimum SAT score of 1150 (mathematics and critical reading only)

Minimum high school GPA of 3.64 or 92%

Personal interview

A written statement

Recommendations (optional)
Note: recommendations typically come from teachers or guidance counselors who know applicants well in an academic context. -
Other factors will be considered such as demonstrating leadership, communication skills, etc.

Application deadline:
Completed applications must be submitted by February 15. Early decision applications are due December 5. Notification of action on applications is normally sent within two months after the deadline to apply. Late applications are accepted but will be considered on a space-available basis with a deadline of March 20.
