Our AmeriCorps Work Study here at Clarion University is a federally funded program, associated with "America Reads". Through this program, Clarion University has been able to place students in the surrounding area school districts and agencies, free of charge. These students have experience in a field which they will be soon entering - primarily Education. Currently more than ten school districts and community agencies receive assistance through this program. Our work study students are used as tutors in the schools to assist students and teachers in general and specific academic areas. In addition, students are sometimes involved with mentoring programs in the community or schools. We believe that we have a great program and hope our students continue to support the "America Reads" program, thus supporting the area school districts and community agencies that critically need our help. Each student is employed by Clarion University and ears the minimum hourly wage - maximum number of eligible hours is established by our Financial Aid Office.
