The Reference & Information Services Area Is Made Up Of:
The Reference Desk-
A reference librarian can point you toward appropriate resources for your research and can assist you, one-on-one, with various research databases and reference resources. See our Ask A Librarian page where you can e-mail a question to the reference librarians or use live, on-line chat to get answers to your reference questions!
Reference Resources-
These sources provide researchers with brief, general information on a wide variety of topics. Reference resources include general and specialized encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs and handbooks, statistical references, etc.
On-line Periodical Indexes/Abstracts via the World Wide Web-
These databases help you locate relevant periodical articles on a topic. There is a wide variety of databases available corresponding to many different academic majors and fields of knowledge. You will find that in some databases, many articles are available full-text. This means that the entire article is available online for you to print, download, or e-mail to your account. When you find full-text articles of interest, you have instant access to them online. Reference librarians can assist you in utilizing these products.
