Three new members joined the Clarion University Alumni Association (CUAA) Board of Directors on July 1.
Dr. A. Floyd Barger ('58) received a B.S. in mathematics/education from Clarion and went on to earn an M.S. and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Minnesota. Now retired, he taught at Saranac Lake High School in New York State 1958-59; College of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn., 1961-67; and Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio, 1970-2005. He was a graduate assistant in 1959-61 and 1967-70. He currently lives in Austintown, Ohio, where he is active with Austintown Optimist, St. Patrick Church, Gleaners Food Bank, and Austintown Democratic Club. He and his late wife, have four children, Michele, Matthew, Susan, and Ellen.
Kraig Koelsch ('95, M.S. '97) received both his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Clarion in communication. Originally from Irwin, he is currently living in Chicago, Ill., where he is editor, e-commerce for Sears Holdings Management Corporation. He previously worked as a programming manager for AOL and director of content management for XOS Technologies/Jump TV. He served as play-by-play announcer for New Smyrna Beach, Fla., High School football. He has played in several of Alpha Gamma Phi's golf outings at Clarion.
Brian Perkins ('09) received his B.S. degree in business management/real estate/industrial and labor relations from Clarion. He is a human resources generalist for Precision Defense Services Inc., Irwin, and is enrolled part-time in an M.B.A. program at Duquesne University. Perkins resides in Irwin.
The CUAA Board of Directors is a 25-member board serving as a major communication link between the university and the alumni. The CUAA fosters a spirit of loyalty among alumni, students and friends of Clarion University.
