Exploration is a co-curricular series of interactive learning and social experiences to assist "first time in college" students with their successful transition to college and to Clarion University. Exploration sessions have been developed to meet the critical needs of first year students at critical times during their first year at Clarion. The sessions have been designed by faculty, staff, and student experts on the Clarion campus and are run by well-trained peer facilitators, as well as faculty and staff. The entire series, including Exploration I (AE 101) and Exploration II (AE 102), is a one credit co-curricular with a half credit in the fall and a half credit in the spring based upon attendance and participation.
Students who complete Exploration earn higher grade point averages, complete more credits each semester, and are more likely to return for their sophomore year than students who do not complete Exploration
