The Masters of Education Program in Curriculum and Instruction is designed for the practicing educational professional and those individuals with education degrees interested in furthering their education. The program is an exciting and innovative approach, geared to accommodate the busy schedules and demands encountered by today's professional educator.
The 30-credit hour program can be completed in three years. One course will be offered per semester during the Fall and Spring semesters and two courses will be offered each semester (one each five week session) for two summers. Each class will be approximately three hours in length. Completion of the program may be done through one of three options: a traditional thesis; an exit test (comprehensive exams); or a portfolio presentation.
All courses will be offered as a combination of on-line and traditional class meetings. Class will be held on five dates throughout each semester during the evening at one of our off campus locations:
- Westmoreland Intermediate Unit #7 (Greensburg, PA)
- Lawrence County Learning Center (New Castle, PA)
- Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit (Monaca, PA)
- Community Education Council of Elk and Cameron Counties (St. Mary's, PA)
- Dixon University in conjunction with Capital Area Intermediate Unit #15 (Harrisburg, PA)
- Penn Highland Community College (Richland and Ebensburg, PA)
The partnerships between Clarion University and each of our off campus sites enables the program to be offered at substantially lower rates than traditional, campus-based programs. The cost will be close to a 35% reduction as compared to regular tuition and fees.
