Wilma Best Logue Education Scholarship	A scholarship is awarded each year to an incoming freshman planning to major in Education at Clarion University. To be considered, candidates must be seniors at Keystone High School. Knox, Pennsylvania. Student records are reviewed for this award via their admission material.
The Grejda Education Scholarship Endowment	This scholarship endowment was created by Dr. Gail F. Grejda in honor of her husband Ed, Clarion alum (Class of 1957) and professor emeritus of English (1961-1996); and their family's longtime dedication to outstanding classroom teaching. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students who show promise in the field of education, through having demonstrated excellence in their classroom experiences. Eligible candidates must be education majors, undergraduate students entering their junior or senior year, have achieved a minimum of 3.25qpa, demonstrated proficiency by having passed the Praxis 1 exam, and provide evidence of their desire to excel in the field of education through work and volunteer experiences including but not limited to coaching, literary programs, religious education, after school programs, tutoring, etc. Contact the Education Department in Stevens Hall for further information.
Sarah Beels Dunikoski Memorial Scholarship	This scholarship was established through the estate of Kenneth & Katherine Beels in memory of their daughter, Sarah. To be considered, incoming student must be a Music Education major with outstanding grades and SAT Score. All Music applicants automatically considered between November and March each recruiting year. No scholarship application form required. Please make sure the Admissions Office has updated grades and SAT/ACT scores.
Robert & Diana Coury Scholarship	This scholarship was established to honor Robert, Class of 1952, and Diana Coury who were strong advocates of Clarion University. Candidates must be current Clarion University students in the College of Education who have completed at least 4 semesters of academic work by the end of May. Candidates must show promise of outstanding service to the profession by performance in the classroom as well as in professional development experience outside the classroom. Student must have at least a 3.4 cumulative q.p.a. Candidates will write a letter of application for the scholarship indicating their strength of eligibility according to the criteria listed above. A candidate will also include his/her thoughts on the contributions they plan to make to the teaching profession. Deadline is April 1. Myra Dell (Singer) Strickler, Class of 1947, Endowed Scholarship	This scholarship was established in memory of Myra by her husband, Dr. Mervin K. Strickler, Jr, Class of 1947. Myra Dell attended Clarion in a time when it was not the norm for a woman to pursue a degree in the sciences or science education as preparation for a career, and she pursued her dream in spite of hesitation by the administration. Myra was recruited by high schools as a science teacher before she even graduated from college, and broke new ground for careers in science for women. All Science and Science Education applicants for admission who have at least a 3.0gpa on a 4.0 scale in strong academic courses will automatically be considered. First preference will be given to a freshman female student entering studies in science or science education.
Eric Flath Scholarship	This scholarship will be established from the estate of Clarion University graduates Robert '50 and Marilyn '67 Flath to honor their son Eric and is to provide education assistance for Clarion University students pursuing a career in the fields of special education or social service. Applicants must be permanent residents in the Keystone or Oil City school districts and the scholarship will alternate each year between the two schools. The scholarship will be available up to four years dependent upon the recipient maintaining a 3.0 QPA in his/her major and demonstrating successful progress towards completion of a degree. Students who receive athletic scholarship are not eligible.
Dr. Lisbeth J. Brown Academic Achievement Award	This scholarship was established in the name of Lisbeth Brown, professor in Clarion University's College of Education, to assist current students who are achieving excellence in their Education Department college major. To be considered, student must have a minimum Q.P.A. of 3.5grade point average at Clarion University. Contact the chair of the Education Department Scholarship Committee each January to find out more about application process and deadline date to be considered.
Dr. Frank, Class of 1962 & Joyce Rocco Endowed Scholarship	Established by Joyce & Frank Rocco, who earned his Elementary Education from Clarion in 1962 and had a distinguished teaching career and outstanding service in 36 years as professor of special education at Winona State University in Minnesota. Frank has served on the Clarion University Alumni Association Board of Directors since 2003. First preference for the scholarship is a strong incoming freshman entering studies in teacher education who is a first generation university student. Please notify by letter the scholarship administrator, c/o Admissions Office by February 1, if you are an incoming freshman education applicant who is a first generation university student. Students' admissions files automatically considered for award.
Class of 1959 Scholarship:	This scholarship, specific to incoming freshman education majors, was established by the Clarion University Class of 1959. Many of those classmates went on to become distinguished educators and desire to encourage students entering the same profession. The scholarship perpetuates the long-term commitment of the class members to their Alma Mater and present day students in appreciation of their education and the opportunities it provided. To be considered, eligible candidates must have a minimum SAT of 1000 or above in the mathematics and critical reading components, or an ACT composite score of 22; be a prospective education major, and be in the top 40% of their high school class. Preference will be given to a descendant of a Clarion University alumnus, and if the prospective student is a descendent, he/she needs to notify Sue McMillen in the Admissions Office in writing by February 1 so the student can be automatically considered along with other children of Clarion alumni.
Class of 1953 Endowment Scholarship for Incoming Freshman Education Major:	This award was established by members of Class of 1953 to honor the 50^th anniversary of their graduation from Clarion State Teachers College. As an integral part of Clarion's rich tradition of excellence, members desire that this award will be an annual scholarship awarded to a Clarion University student. All Education applicants for admission who have at least a 3.0 grade point average will automatically be considered for this award. Student must also show financial need as indicated by FAFSA. The scholarship is renewable as long as the student maintains a cumulative 3.0 g.p.a. at Clarion University and remains an Education major.?

This class was known for having a large number of returning World War II U.S. Veterans. Most of the members of the Class of '50 went on to become distinguished educators. This scholarship perpetuates the long-term commitment of the class members to their Alma Mater and present day students. To be considered for the scholarship, candidates must have a minimum SAT score of 1000 (combined critical reading & mathematics component) or ACT composite score of 22, be a prospective education major, graduate in the upper two fifths of high school class, and be a descendant of a Clarion University Alumnus. Students who feel they meet the academic criteria need to submit a letter indicating they are a descendent of an alumnus with name and graduation year of the alumnus to the scholarship administrator in the Admissions Office, Clarion University. Award offered in February for the following school year.

Clarion County Chapter of the PA Association of School Retirees Scholarship	One scholarship is awarded each year. Candidate must have graduated from a Clarion County high school or have been a resident of Clarion County at the time of high school graduation. Application is made in the spring to the Education Department chair at 814-393-2404. Selection is based on academic record, contribution to department and university, participation in extracurricular activities, and leadership skills. Letters of recommendation are required.
