Below is a list of all of the committees on Student Senate, as well as the description of their functions and chairs of each. Additional information and duties of each committee can be found on the Constitution page.
Appropriations Committee
The primary function of the committee is to recommend to the Student Senate the budget, allocation and the distribution of the Student Activity Fee with the approval of the President of Clarion University. Chaired by Treasurer Kayla Lavery.
Executive Committee
The primary function is to advise the Student Senate President in leadership directions, monitor and develop ethic guidelines for the Student Senate, discuss personnel matters and develop the overall goals, focus, and objectives for Student Senate. It consists of President Dickson, Vice President Domitrovich, Treasurer Lavery, Parliamentarian Donor, Rules and Regulations Chair, Senator Robinson, Student Relations Chair, Senator Snyder, and Community Relations Chair, Senator Uber.
Student Relations Committee
The primary function is to get involved in all Student Senate matters dealing with student relations to various university and non-university constituents. Chaired by Jesse Snyder. There are also subcommittees belonging to this committee:
Legislative Affairs: Informs students of the student related activities on federal, state, and local level and establish communication with organizations. Chaired by Greg Jacobs.
Advertising and Social: Present Student Senate, its committees and the CSA to the general public through various forms of media and supervises all university wide elections in any student organizations with their advertising strategies. Chaired by Michaela Hardy.
Elections: Set up the elections of Student Senate during the spring semester for the following year. Also, during the fall semester set up freshmen elections. Required to provide applications, election dates, ballots, make sure all applicants are qualified, and anything else deemed necessary for elections Chaired by Michaela Hardy.
Committee on Rules, Regulations, and Policies
The primary function is to advise the Student Senate on recommending approval of recognition of any student organization, oversee the proper functioning of organizations through reviewing, keeping, and updating records, ensure that organizations are following the standard policies established by the Student Senate and CSA Board of Directors, and advise the Student Senate to terminate or place probationary status of any organization. Chaired by Madeline Robinson. There is also a subcommitte belonging to this committee.
Student Facilities Committee
The primary functions are to gather input from the student body and generate suggestions pertaining to food services offered at Eagle Commons and Gemmell Snack Bar and also housing offered by the University and off campus, and to act as an advisory board to the director of Student Centers, University Book Centers, and The Office of Campus Life. Chaired by Jeff Donor.
Safety, Health, and Environmental Concerns
The primary purpose is to assist the Campus Police in ensuring the safety of students on campus through development of safety awareness programs and address the relations between students and Campus Police. Chaired by Ann Dibert.
Community Relations Committee
The purpose of this committee is to better the relations between the community of Clarion with the students of the Clarion campus through various programs and projects done collaboratively with active student engagement. Chaired by Sean Uber.
Academic Affairs Committee
This primary focus of this committee is to assist the student body in expressing their academic concerns and generating solutions to achieve student satisfaction. Chaired by Todd Garrett.
Web Chair
The purpose of this chair is to update and maintain the Student Senate website with the most recent information. Chaired by Michaela Hardy.
