2011 Update: Important Student System Transition Notes for March 2011

While the Catalog, Admissions, and Schedule Development components of our new system are already in use supporting Summer 2011, Fall 2011, and Spring 2012 processing, the largest phase of the project will occur with our production cutover in March. The full transition from our legacy Gold/Blue/Web For Faculty/Student systems (aka iClarion/SIS-Plus) to our new Oracle Peoplesoft system (which will be known as MyClarion) will begin on Saturday 12-MAR-2011. The cutover process will take approximately one week as we convert many years of data from the old system and activate the new system.

Please note that Friday 11-MAR-2011 will be the last day of the SIS-Plus Web For Faculty and Web for Student systems. Moreover, it will be the last date for update access to the SIS-Plus system from Gold or Blue. Limited view-only access to the old SIS-Plus system will be available via Gold or Blue from 14-MAR-2011 until at least the end of the spring semester.

The data conversions and production activation of the new system will begin on Saturday 12-MAR-2011 and will continue for approximately one week. During this time, the MyClarion components that are already in production (catalog, admissions, schedule development) will also be unavailable.

The new MyClarion system will be fully available on Monday 21-MAR-2011. From that point forward, MyClarion will be the official student information system for the university and will be used for all student system processing including scheduling and registration, advising, grades, bills, financial aid, admissions, and related processes.

Full Project Schedule Background

The ESIS project started with a "Planning/Structure" phase from NOV-2009 through FEB-2010.  The new system will be deployed for end of semester processing for Spring 2011 and full semester processing for the Summer 2011/Fall 2011 semesters.  We will follow a phased go-live schedule where all activity for the targeted semesters will occur in the new system, starting with recruitment and admissions in September 2010 (for the Fall’11 class) and advancing through the myriad of tasks within the academic cycle for the Summer 2011 and Fall 2011 semesters (schedule development, registration, financial aid processing, bills/payments/refunds, grades, graduation, etc.).  Processing for our legacy SIS-Plus system will end during the Sping 2011 semester, with a full cutover to the new system set for March 2011.

Following is a high-level summary of projected utilization dates for functionality within the new system.
