Clarion University faculty members Dr. Vince Spina and Dr. Phil Terman will give a poetry reading, Thursday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. in University Gallery, Level A, Carlson Library. The reading is free and open to the public.
Spina, a professor of modern languages, is a published poet, and a published literary critic. His book, "El modo épico en José Luis Arguedas," is considered one of the most searching in the field of studies of the Peruvian author. His newest book of poetry is "Outer Borough."
Terman, a professor of English, has published a large number of his poems in journals and anthologies including, The Georgia Review, Poetry, The Kenyon Review, The Gettysburg Review, Tikkun, and Blood to Remember: American Poets Respond to the Holocaust. His other books include "The House of Sages" and "Book of the Unbroken Days." He is the recipient of the Sow's Ear Chapbook Award, the Kenneth Patchen Prize, and the Anna Davidson Rosenberg Award for poems on the Jewish Experience and is the co-director of the Chautauqua Writers' Festival at the Chautauqua Institute.
