Dr. Jeffrey Eicher, Esq., Clarion University Center for Legal Education, provided the introduction and opening remarks. Lunch was provided by the Clarion University Foundation Inc. and the Clarion Hospital Foundation.
The Clarion University Center for Legal Education was created primarily to fulfill the local need of attorneys to complete a mandatory annual requirement of continuing legal education, established in 1992 by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The initial thrust was specifically on ethics, but the requirements have evolved to include more substantive information.
The entire conference is videotaped and offered again in April at Clarion University's Venango Campus in Oil City. The conference draws its major attendance from Jefferson, Venango, Clarion, and Butler counties, but has had lawyers attend from Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Clearfield, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Forrest, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Warren and Westmoreland counties.
The conference qualifies for six hours of continuing legal education, four substantive hours and two hours of professionalism and/or ethics.
Clarion University is the high-achieving, nationally recognized, comprehensive university that delivers a personal and challenging academic experience.
