Dr. Sandra Trejos, professor of economics at Clarion University, will be the concluding speaker in the fall portion of the Faculty Author Speaker Series. Trejos will present "Academic Performance and Pupils' Profile: Does Effort Truly Matter?" Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 12:15 p.m. in level A of Carlson Library.
The presentation is free and open to the public. A light lunch will be served beginning at noon.
Trejos will present her research findings indicating that effort is the most relevant and statistically significant factor in determining students' performance, whether when assessing performance by using overall grade or final test scores. She received her master's and Ph.D degrees from Oklahoma State University and B.S. degree from University of Costa Rico.
