Dr. Andrew Lingwall, an associate professor of communication at Clarion University, has been published in the Fall 2009 issue of The Journal of Advertising Education.

Lingwall's article, titled, "IMC and its Integration into Programs of Journalism and Mass Communication," presented the results of a recent survey research project designed to explore the level and nature of curricular integration in university programs of journalism and mass communication according to the principles of Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC).

In the survey, Lingwall found that regardless of institutional factors, only moderate levels of curricular integration had been achieved across degree programs, courses, and course topics. He also discovered significantly higher levels of integration within courses integrating advertising and public relations, regardless of institutional factors. Finally, Lingwall found significant differences between respondents' perceived value of an integrated curriculum according to their years of professional experience.

The Journal of Advertising Education is a peer-reviewed, scholarly journal published by the Advertising Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).

Clarion University is the high-achieving, nationally recognized, comprehensive university that delivers a personal and challenging academic experience.
