Dr. Joseph Talarico to speak about health care

Article Body

Dr. Joseph Talarico, professor of anesthesiology at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, will present "Health Care Can't Wait," Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. in Hart Chapel at Clarion University. The presentation sponsored by Clarion University's Young Democrats is free and open to the public.

Talarico has presented his case at campuses and community meetings across Western Pennsylvania, endorsing the "single-payer" health care plan that has been supported by many Democratic Party officials across the country.

"Though this plan is only one out of many ideas being presented by our party, it is a plan that most people don't clearly understand," said Christopher Katella, president of the Clarion Young Democrats. "We are here to present just one idea that will bring us closer to universal heath care in our country."

A question and answer session will follow Talarico's presentation.

Clarion University is the high-achieving, nationally recognized, comprehensive university that delivers a personal and challenging academic experience.
