Clarion University's Chamber Singers, directed by Dr. Hank Alviani, associate professor of music, will perform for two Catholic Latin High Masses in November. The first will be at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Fryburg, Saturday, Nov. 7, at 5:15 p.m. The second will be at St. Bernadette Church, Saegertown, Sunday, Nov. 8, at 11:30 a.m.
The Chamber Singers will perform "Missa o quam gloriosa" (O How Glorious) by Renaissance composer Tomas Luis de Victoria (c. 1548-1611), plus Latin motets "Jesu rex admirabilis" by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (c. 1525-1594) and "Ave Maria" by Jacob Arcadelt (c. 1505-1568). In addition they will perform "Salve Regina" by Los Angeles composer Paul Gibson, a modern setting in polyphonic Renaissance style of the chant melody of the same name.
In the Mass at St. Bernadette, Alviani will also chant all of the Mass Propers for the Twenty-Third Sunday after Pentecost.

Boyle, a senior music education major, is from Clearfield and is a graduate of Clearfield High School.
Fahringer, a junior biology major, a daughter of Joann Fahringer of Catawissa and a graduate of Southern Columbia High School.
Fiorentino, a senior music education major, a daughter of Dan Fiorentino of North Apollo, and a graduate of Apollo-Ridge High School.
Hoffman, a sophomore English major, is a daughter of Kimberly Hoffman of Meadville and is a graduate of Meadville High School.
Lang, a freshman liberal studies major, a daughter of David and Nancy Lang of Harmony, and a graduate of Seneca Valley High School.
Tame, a sophomore music education major, a daughter of Floyd and Sherrie Tame of Rochester, and a graduate of Rochester High School.
