All auditioning should prepare 32 bars of a legitimate rock song (please no Rodgers & Hammerstein, Jerry Herman, Steven Sondheim and the like). It can be from a show as long as it is rock, and not just a show tune with a backbeat. In addition everyone will sing Seasons of Love. Download here. An piano accompanist will be provided. Those auditioning for the role of “Roger” may accompany them selves on guitar Dance auditions will be held separately.

MARK COHEN – lead – Caucasian
Filmmaker. Jewish from Long Island, Maureen’s former boyfriend shares a loft with Roger. C#3 - G4 (Tenor) (role not available)
ROGER DAVIS – lead – plays guitar
Once successful musicians, now a recovering drug addict with HIV. Mourning the loss of his girlfriend who committed suicide following her HIV diagnosis B2 - A4 ( Rock Tenor)
TOM COLLINS – supporting – Philosopher and former instructor at MIT. HIV+ F#2 - A4 (Baritenor)
ANGEL SHAUNARD – supporting -- role is played partially in drag. Street percussionist. The soul of the play. Also HIV+ C3 - A4 (Tenor) (role not available)
MIMI MARQUEZ –lead – ethnic must be a strong dancer. A professional dancer in an S/M dance club. Advanced HIV as well as a heroin habit. F#3 - E5 (Alto)

PROGRAM AUDTIONS
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 6 AT 4PM
APPOINTMENT NECESSARY
Actors will prepare two memorized monologues of three minutes each, one light in nature, the other serious. One selection should be a play written prior to 1800 with some element of “style,” Shakespeare is preferred. Non-dramatic material such as letters, poems and novels, as well as original material are not acceptable. Plot explanation is not necessary.
In addition, candidates for the Musical Theatre program must sing a selection from the musical theatre repertory and make arrangements for a dance evaluation.
Candidates for the Design program will submit a portfolio of their work in the theatre and related areas. Should the student not posses such materials, the design faculty
