Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging: Concentrations in Radiologic Technology and Sonography

 

Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging Sciences degree with concentrations in radiologic technology or  sonography is located at the Venango Campus in Oil City and the Clarion Campus in Clarion. The program is also available for students online.

 

Students graduating from an accredited hospital school of radiography who have passed the ARRT registry examination in radiography or students graduating from an accredited school of diagnostic medical sonography who passed the ARDMS registry examination and who apply to and are admitted to Clarion University will be granted 60 credits toward the 120-credit bachelor's degree.  Admitted students will then be required to complete an additional 60 semester hours of science and general education course work at Clarion. Graduates who have also completed the 15 credits of pre-requisite courses from Clarion University will have earned 75 credits toward the 120-credit bachelor's degree and will need to complete only an additional 45 credits.

 

Further, coursework completed at other properly-accredited colleges and universities will be evaluated for transfer to Clarion University. Therefore, depending on academic courses completed students may have earned up to 90 credits toward Clarion University's Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging Sciences degree.

 

Clarion University's Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging Sciences degree program prepares students at the professional level. The program affords students the opportunity to attain a scientific knowledge base in radiography as well as a liberal arts education that will expand their role and function as a professional. Additionally, the program provides graduates with knowledge and skills necessary to advance in the science and practice of medical imaging and provides a foundation for graduate education in masters and doctorate programs.

 

Clarion's degree program is specifically designed for working professionals and will enable you to complete your degree program with us at your pace through a flexible online education environment.  The program may be completed by taking one or two courses each semester over several years, or you may choose a faster pace. The length of time it takes you to earn the degree is up to you!
