The Clarion University Center for Legal Education was created primarily to fulfill the local need of attorneys to complete a mandatory annual requirement of continuing legal education. The Center also provides a forum for local judges to address the local bar on items of mutual concern, and supports advanced research into various legal issues.
The Mission of the Center for Legal Education is the provision of high quality legal conferences which meet the continuing education requirements of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at a convenient comfortable location and an affordable price, as well as the general advancement of legal education.
Conferences arranged by the Center are typically conducted live at Clarion University in late October, and are then recorded and shown as a replay in late April of the following year at the Venango campus and selected other locations. Some prior seminars have also utilized interactive television and bridging to multiple conference sites simultaneously. Other programs will be arranged as speakers and topics of interest are found.
Arrangements have also been made for the Center to serve as a satellite downlink site for select conferences conducted by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. Such conferences will be held at the main campus of Clarion University and provide live interaction with the conference presenters.
