Krueger presents research at ACRL meeting

   Dr. Janice Krueger, assistant professor of library science at Clarion University, presented her research findings on “iSkills and the Undergraduate Student” at the June meeting of the Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Chapter held at West Virginia Wesleyan College, Buckhannon, W. Va.
    Kreuger has taught at Clarion Univeristy since 2006. She received her B.S. from Duquesne University, M.S. from Drexel University, and Ed.D. from University of Pacific.
    ACRL is the largest division of the American Library Association. It is a professional association of academic librarians and other interested individuals. It is dedicated to enhancing the ability of academic library and information professionals to serve the information needs of the higher education community and to improve learning, teaching, and research. ACRL currently has a membership of approximately 13,249, accounting for nearly 20% of the total ALA membership. ACRL provides a broad range of professional services and programs for a diverse membership.
    The theme of the conference was “Assessment in Academic Libraries.” The keynote speaker was Scott Walter, associate university librarian for services and associate dean of libraries, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His presentation was “The Stories That Sustain Us:  Assessment and the Future of the Academic Library.”
