I am very delighted and honored to serve as the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs of Clarion University of Pennsylvania. Clarion University is recognized as an institution with rich traditions and values. It is a place where students and people of all backgrounds come to learn, teach and work. It is a comprehensive university which offers undergraduate and graduate programs of high quality and co-curricular opportunities that enhance the experiences of all students. The University is made up of a community of scholars, educators, support staff, student development professionals, and administrators who are devoted to serving our students.
As the Chief Academic Officer of Clarion University, my role is to provide academic and administrative leadership in all facets of curriculum and program development. Matters concerning cutting edge teaching advancement, research support, creative work and other scholarly endeavors in the university fall within the purview of my responsibility. The responsibility of my office also extends to every academic support unit and student services that involve academic programs, curriculum requirements and academic opportunities for Clarion University students.
In providing stable leadership for the Division of Academic Affairs, we are mindful of the mission of the University and the strategic academic direction outlined in the strategic plan. My role in supervising academic programs and support units, faculty employment, academic policies and budgets is informed through a collective venture with university stakeholders.
The priorities of the office of the Provost are pivoted upon the prevailing realities of the fundamental education needs of our state and our country in recognition of our aspiration to be globally ready in a competitive world. At Clarion University, we are quite cognizant of the contemporary world in which we live and we are preparing our students to be leaders in the world.
I am working closely with the President, the administration, faculty, staff and students to continue Clarion's legacy of excellent, rigorous and responsible scholarship.
